We won

The USWNT opened up their 2009 campaign by beating Denmark 2-0 earlier today. The goals were from Angie Woznuk and Tina DiMartino in the first half and Hope Solo made some BENJAMIN BUTTONS SH*T saves and… uh… I think that just about summed the game up. I was sleeping off a hangover at the time so even if this thing was on the internet somewhere, I still would’ve missed it. I know my limits in this department people. But after reading the match report, two things struck me: Angela Hucles is back in the midfield and Pia’s year of experiments have truly begun because Shannon Boxx played this one as a central defender.
In other news, Lori Chalupny is the new co-captain and Rachel Buehler has a really hard head. What can I say? It’s been a long day. The US plays Iceland on March 6th – a country which was hit the hardest by this current economic crisis so, honestly, I’m kind of impressed they’ve still got a national team.
