Jozy Altidore Makes It Big!

Here’s your USA World Cup Blog question of the day: what do Jozy Altidore, Evander Holyfield, the Western Kentucky Hilltopper mascot, and Steve Irwin all have in common?

That’s right! They’ve all been in a Sportscenter commercial! The Villarreal (I think) striker and current goal scoring hope of the US Men’s National Team made his Sportscenter commercial debut and, as Daryl pointed out, they didn’t even feel the need to waste time explaining who he was. I guess they’re assuming that the general public is now familiar with Mr. Altidore…. which is an assumption I am more than happy to back…

Regardless, Jozy’s in a commercial and it’s pretty decent as far as Sportscenter commercials go. It’s no Y2K or anything…

… but it definitely beats the hell out of anything featuring Shevchenko!
