Roster for Friendly Against Sweden Announced
Here is the roster for the Aug 22 Matchup against Sweden:
Goalkeepers (2) – Marcus Hahnemann (Reading FC), Tim Howard (Everton FC)
Defenders (6) – Carlos Bocanegra (Fulham FC), Jonathan Bornstein (Chivas USA), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover 96), Jay DeMerit (Watford FC), Oguchi Onyewu (Standard de Liege), Jonathan Spector (West Ham United)
Midfielders (6) – DaMarcus Beasley (Glasgow Rangers), Michael Bradley (SC Heerenveen), Bobby Convey (Reading FC), Clint Dempsey (Fulham FC), Benny Feilhaber (Derby County), Pablo Mastroeni (Colorado Rapids)
Forwards (5) – Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy), Charlie Davies (Hammarby IF), Kamani Hill (VfL Wolfsburg), Josh Wolff (1860
Munich), Sal Zizzo (Hannover 96)
Glad to see youngins such as Davies and Hill get some more experience as well as Zizzo continuing his tremendous momentum from the U-20 World Cup. I think he owes Johann Smith a small percentage of his Hannover 96 contract.
Also great to see Convey back in the fold after his trouble with the injury. This is going to be his first real season in the Premiership and I can’t wait to see how he does.
Some that seem to be snubbed are Freddy, Stuart Holden, and Jozy Altidore. But these guys all have pretty big obligations to their respective clubs around the friendly date and there will be plenty of chances to finally get them called up.

The U-17 World Cup is drawing even closer and I just wanted to give you guys a heads on some great Studio 90 pieces on the official site involving the current crop of U-17’s that will be repping the stars and stripes in Korea. A ton of great prospects to keep an eye on for the US as well as all of the teams involved. A first chance to put yourself in the shop window for some of our more ambitious youngsters.
