A quick edit to add: The US Women’s National Team beat Germany 3-2 at the Algarve Cup final, which pit the #1 and #2 teams in the world against each other. More on the game with Melissa this weekend.

I am so angry that freedy adu is not going to the wc. I dont think people that read soccer book and want to be coach can truly evaluate talent. Freedy if given a chance will be better than all the other midfielders. There is no creative imaginative player on this dammm team. They will predictable and very beateable

Have you actually seen Freddy Adu play? He’s horrible. He has ball skills but no idea how to play with the rest of the team. He gets lost out there.

Definitely not true about Freddy Adu, John Doe. Maybe back in the day when he was 15 playing in MLS. Not now. He needs to be given a chance on the World Stage in a meaningful game before he can be judged. He ran shop in the U-20 World Championships while playing outside Mid. He took defenders on, has great ball control and a great vision. Stick him in Center Mid along with Maurice Edu, and have them flanked by Donovan and Beasley and then we are talking for a Midfield.

Denroy is absolutely right with the lack of an imaginative player…with the Midfield and Attack options we have right now, and rumors of a 4-5-1..we will have no shot today, or at the WC.
